Mrs. Nancy J. JONES died at her home near this place at 8 o'clock Sun. even, Nov. 25th, 1894. She was b. in Jefferson Co, In Jan 25, 1823, making her age 71 years and 10 months. She moved to Montgomery Co. with her father at an early day and experienced the usual hardships in settling a new country. She was always kind to the poor and unfortunate and was ready and willing to sacrifice her pleasures for her family. She was marr. to Jonas Jones April 15, 1852 and to this union was b. 3 children, one son and two daughters, Marcus Jones of Eureka Springs, ARK; Mrs. Emma BYRD and Mrs. Addie STEWART who were with her in the last hour of her life. She united with the regular Baptist church in May 1859; the Bible and the promise therein have been her daily comfort through life, and especially since her beloved husband was taken from her about one year ago.

She d. full of faith in a happy future. Her last words were "Children be good to one another and your little ones." Her constant prayer last Sun. was "Lord, Jesus, take me," and reaching up her hands her lips moved, "Say, Lord, lift me up."

Her last was a sweet and peaceful sleep.
